Bought one of the AGS 3-9X40 scopes illuminated ret - and it's alright - there's a centre cross hair that illuminates (The Deben Hawke range in ill ret are the mil-dot type) and the brightness range is good.

This is an airgun scope - in so far as the parallax is set for airgun ranges.

My shooting mate bought one , nether off us think its much cop we do most of our shooting in the evening and he never uses it, imo better off spending the extra cash on a scope with good mill dot lenses for clarity

Like has been said, a lot of makers do them now, A google search or just looking up the scope makers will find them. I've three scopes at the moment, used to have four. Three of them had illuminated reticles and to be honest I never used it in anger once. Won't be getting illuminated reticles anymore, just my opinion though ;)

I have two with illuminated rets - the MTC and my Meopta.

I wouldn't bother again tbh. The MTC comes in handy because the crosshair is so fine, in the gloom of a long shot you need it. The Meopta is an illuminated dot; its optics are so good I've never turned it on under the lamp. Once or twice in the dusk, but I can't see stuff to shoot at when I need the illumination (i.e. I can see through the scope, but I can't acquire targets first as it's too dark) so I just get the lamp out. I could have saved £150 on the meopta for the 7x50 without IR, and it would have been a really good saving. But, I learned that I don't need IR, so it's money well spent.

yes i find with the mtc as the crosshairs are fine. the ir dont get in the way of the sight picture and if it does you turn it down abit. but on some other scopes as the crosshair is thick. when you turn the ir on it just lights up all the sight picture

making it all most impossble to see anything let alone a rabbit or a fox.

:hmm::hmm::hmm:

Can be useful Dawn & Dusk and if night shooting under a Full (or nearly full) moon, without a lamp.

If you have a decent lamp or red filter on the lamp I can see little or no need for illuminated.

Personal choice though, as with so many things scope wise!
