Quads does the job!

Hi Guys,

Was out the other night On the Quad and had me 12g s/s Spanish shotgun and 2 boxes of 7.5 clay pigeon cartrages. I spent 2 hours out and I got 35 Rabbits and used 37 Cartrages. First time I shot at night on the quad just using its lights. Its a Great piece of kit. My record with a shotgun before that was 9 rabbits in 1 day!!

I got within 20 yards of all rabbits so I couldnt miss the oppertunity.

Carry on like that and you'll have to put a trailer on to carry the kill!

Good for pest control, but bugger trying to eat bunny that's been shot at that range with a shotty! I'm not that much of a fan of heavy metals in my diet!

 

The quad is a great tool, especially when a decent silencer is fitted. Makes a nice stable base to shoot from too!

How deep do the 7 1/2 shot go? I have loads of them but don't seem to make it to the clays much.

The rabbits dont be destroyed or that so they dont go very deep but they do the job fine at 10-20 yards. When I shot a few rabbits at ten yards they belw up but at a higher range they are all together. I would generally use 5 cartridges for rabbits but because the Quad can get so close without spooking them I use up my clay cartridges. Hope thats helpfull P.S. I wouldnt fancey eating them dow due to all the lead pellets inside in the. Rifle for that job

Why can you get closer to a rabbit on a quad then walking. The quad is louder then you walking Some one please inlighten me

It's the same with tractors, The rabbits just get used to seeing them up and down so they don't see them as a threat, but they will soon wise up.

i was shooting on a golf course last week, things were slow until 0700 when the greenkeepers started to cut the fairways etc, once they started using the mowers the rabbits basically switched off and allowed me to get easily within air rifle range, i shot more rabbits in 30mins when the mowers and tractors where in use than i did the previous 2 hrs.

Yep all the above correct

I found that out when I was 12 from shooting on foot and then the change when im in the jeep, and I swear by it since.

When you in a veichle they think your no threat because they used to hearing the sound and never getting disterbed by it.......... so they just stay there when a young lad on a quad and a belt full of cartradges pulls up and points a shotgun at them.

They probably think I was asking them for directions

The method your using is very effective..... but try switching over to a moderated 410 for even better results atb..

depends on how good a shot you are pal,knowing how much lead to give yet still killing it effectively
