yep would have to agree a very good and accurate russian rifle of very good craftmanship not very good on ft per pounds i would guess though, here is a coment i copied and pasted for you.

Got mine as a hand-me-down from my pops back in 1980ish. He had it way before then though. SN# is E12235 which makes this REALLY old! Pops and I put thousands of .177 CAL pellets through this and it has never quit. Just rebuilt it a few days ago and just found out who made it at the same time (searching for specs). its so old that the Air Piston has plied and folded LEATHER seals which are greased up the wazoo. The grease used is really stinky and almost black so I replaced it with some new grease which makes this thing really smooth. can hit 2 inch groupings at 20 meters no sweat, and no wind of course. shooting .177 CALs by Milbro of Scotland.

Might I suggest getting it chrono'd? Sounds like it might be running more than a little "hot".

Why do I never find stuff like this in skips? :(

Sounds like a good restoration project. Sort the stock, grease up all the internals and sort out the metalwork and you'll have a tool to be proud of.

Can you put pics up, might be able to identify it properly for you!
