anthc123 0
What you'd think? I have a BSA ultra .22 and a s400c .22 which i'v only had a few month I was thinking about selling both, adding a little bit and getting a brand new r10, would only really consider it once I get some decent permission really. What are your thoughts? Cheers Quote Link to post

garfield 23
well if you think about it a new R10 is about £545 from airgun center and thats for a tuned rifle so you know it works and they give you lifetime warranty on there rifles, you could get around £300-350 for the s400 and about £200 for the ultra so thats your r10 paid for Quote Link to post
mark739 1
I would stay well away from the R10 mate, my R10 mk 2 went back to bsa after 2 weeks from new, i never seen it again. (it joined a long queue which ment 5-6 weeks with out rifle) I got my money back from gun shop and got Hw100, and that is simply awesome. Quote Link to post
anthc123 0
thanks for the comments there seem to be a lot of mixed thoughts about the r10, what problems have the mk 2 been having? Quote Link to post
anthc123 0
well if you think about it a new R10 is about £545 from airgun center and thats for a tuned rifle so you know it works and they give you lifetime warranty on there rifles, you could get around £300-350 for the s400 and about £200 for the ultra so thats your r10 paid for thats what i was thinking mate, as i only use the bsa for shooting out the car, and the s400 for sort of more accuracy longer shots, if i got the r10 it will be best of both worlds really because its nice and small for shooting out the car still Edited June 20, 2010 by anthc123 Quote Link to post
garfield 23
the mk2 has had all the know faults ironed out all the bits where bsa scrimped in mass production have been changed it was mainly a magazine issue but its sorted now Quote Link to post
Ron Weasley 83
the mk2 has had all the know faults ironed out all the bits where bsa scrimped in mass production have been changed it was mainly a magazine issue but its sorted now I'm not sure that's strictly true garfield. There is no R10 Mk2, just an old type and a new type. The main problem was with the regulator, but there were other issues that have since been ironed out too. BSA definitely got it wrong, because as a flagship model, it should be rivalling the Rapid, and for far less! I have one of the old type R10s, which had to go back to BSA for an unrelated problem, where the reg was upgraded as a matter of course. I recently had another problem that was caused entirely by myself overfilling (unintentionally). That's been sorted too, and I wouldn't change the rifle now. Sure, I'd love an S410, but if I get one, it'll be an addition rather than a replacement. All of that said, you already own what is unquestionably one of the greatest rifles on the market in the s400, so seems a bit unnecessary to me and I'm sure many others. If you decide to sell them though, let me know. I could be tempted by the ultra, especially if it's .177! Edited June 22, 2010 by Ron Weasley Quote Link to post
anthc123 0
Both are .22 mate. Does anyone who have tried both the r10 and s400 no which is quieter? The s400 is pretty quiet, quietest gun i'v used by far. Cheers Quote Link to post
