Leeview 792
Good post chalkwarren for those who were fast enough to read it :clapper:you said the polecat was nt tested scientifically and that you have caught several feral ferrets in drop boxes but IYO this was a truly wild polecat, so if a ferret is left in the wild for whatever reason how long before it reverts to being wild? and the feral ferret kits bred in the wild would no doubt be shall we say unhandable/not domesticated In short any ferret making its way in the wild would have savvy up pretty sharp to survive and IMHO its character would change? Y.I.S Leeview Fair enough as I mentioned earlier also there are colonies of feral ferrets living in the Dales and I truly dont know how long they survive but they do Just another quick one While trapping you must also come across stoats and weasels now why dont these have tics on them as the ferrets on the same place pick them up no problem early season? Y.I.S Leeview As I mentioned in an earlier post,... I have trapped several, feral ferrets,..some white and some polecat marked,.. And,.they are completely different to the one that was seen in that DVD...I genuinely believe that few ferrets will live for many years in the wild,..it is a hard life for them,.especially throughout a long cold Winter. Their character would definitely have to change But, unless they were attending a Gym,.no way would they have the time and luxury of developing the sheer power and muscular physique of a truly wild creature... The mortality rate of any mustiline, living rough, must surely be high,..and having recently trapped two large male polecats,.one in the Hampshire/Winchester area,.and the other in Wiltshire/Salisbury,.I genuinely believe that they were the real McCoy BUT,..I could well be wrong... All the best.CHALKWARREN... Quote Link to post

I have had pure polecats and no exactly what you mean about them being more stronger and acting different. Leeview, if you chose not to belive this, then their is nothing that can be said or done.. I will say this though, the true wild polecat, is spreading.. CW, thanks very much for your experince on this subject, as you are out their, living in reality, not fantasy. Dan. Green Island Hunter 28
Not trying to divide anyone CW. Or score brownie points. Thanks though, for your info and i would also like to thank Leeview for his input, we all have differences of opinions, it would be a boring world if we all agreed on the one thing. Dan.
