Where do you keep your terrier!? Indoors or out?

mine are cept outside in good kennels and most dogs that live out adapt to the cold and have a thick coat :ph34r:

I keep mine in the house at night and out durring the day but in if we go out theres a lot of dogs go missing around here

up until i built my dog kennels this year, the dogs were always in the house with a flap in the kitchen to give all time access to the garden, since having a little child again who wants to play on the grass, i have built runs so the dogs dont crap on the childs lawn :11:

 

the dogs are in the house when we are at home and go in the run for the toilet and on a night when we go to bed, if you keep them outside get the best kennel & run you can afford...

 

inside dogs are a burglar deterent...i had a telesales bloke trying to sell me a burglar alarm, i told him i had 2 dogs that would alert me and slow down the burglars while i loaded the gun up stairs :11: he didn't know what to say and he hung up :11: :11:

Indoors for the simple reasons they are company, a deterant to any unwanted visitors, and i wouldnt want to risk them being stolen......horrible world we live in now when even a mut is fair game

 

All the CCTV and guard dogs wont stop someone if they are determined enough. A mates kennels were robbed for a 2nd time, smashed his CCTV and shot the alsation!

It was about 2yrs ago. I received 2 anonymous emails (hotmail) From someone who obviously knew me. Saying they were a friend and from the North East, to let me know one of their aquaintences had bragged they were going to take Millets dogs to teach him a lesson for posting pictures of his dogs killing fox, because they thought he was bragging and laughing about killing them.

 

Another time received emails from someone who claimed to be from travelling stock, was going to send Pikeys to his house to sort him out for bad mouthing a female (which he had'nt).

Always kept my Dogs in doors with me. Otherwise I see it as like having an alarm system which ye set up down the road somewhere ....!

 

My latest terrier sleeps in my bed, with me and my other two Dogs. (Fourth Dog's simply too big for the single futon. I'll probably end up buying a double, so he can get in there too. Keeps me warm!)

 

Worker or moocher about the house, I have them indoors. I don't subscribe to this shit about they're " Tools". A hammer's a tool. Chuck it in the shed and forget about it, it'll still drive a nail at the weekend. Dogs are living, thinking, emotional things. They're pack animals. Keep them around ye and ye bond better than a hammer. Get to know each other and thus get better responses when out and about.

 

That's how I see it anyway. Be looking foreward to seeing this one expand. Wish I had more time to think and say more. Hope to be on satellite Broad Band by the end of the year. Join in better then!

Me too ! 3 ( 1 Pitty and 2 Patty´s ) Indoor ! Live in the 4 th floor in the city ... so there is no outside !

D/S you can belive me one thing , also if you would buy a triple bed , you will allways be the one with the smallest space ! I know that first hand !

...and sometime´s when i´m not able to watch after them :whistle: i´m the bed !

Our 8 month JRT sleeps on our bed ,I never thought I'd have a dog in the house let alone the bedroom but he seems to know his place at the bottom of the pecking order.At home he's a lapdog yet in the field he's surpassed what I thought he would be at this age,bushing I'm talking about,though he has shown a willingness to go to ground if allowed.

at the moment my two dogs have full run of the garden, my jackrussell Taz has been out side for the past 4 yrs .Moved in to my own house concreted a section of the garden with drain etc then build a pen and i used chicken wire with a terrier you learn. didnt take long for the great escape. rebuilding it now well new wire

 

JR and Lake land locked in large kennell every night then out in the morning.

When I first got my border it was snowing (much like today ) and freezing cold and he fitted in the palm of my hand he was tiny - my ex partner said to me you cant put that poor wee thing outside! and if you do I will never speak to you again you evil bitch I think the words Cruella De Ville were also mentioned I gave in and kept the wee thing in the house until the cold spell had passed, he was great, used to curl up and go to sleep on one of my old jumpers at my feet while I was on the computer.

 

Put him outside and never had any bother with him, hes been outside ever since. He is a good little watch dog but doesnt bark incessantly.

 

He is a rabbiting/bushing dog, marks holes etc. Ive been slagged for having a border, having a border to do rabbits and all that kind of thing but it doesnt bother me as every time I let the wee dog out of his kennel he is so happy to see me and It puts a smile on my face and cos he has been reared with the lurchers, he hunts up like one, surprisingly fast for his small size.

I met a women that had a couple of spanials......

 

One was of working type.......the other didnt have the pedigree,neither dog did any work.

 

She kept the working type in doors in a cage and the other dog in doors with the run of the house.

 

I just couldnt get my head round how she could take them both out for a run then have one snuggled up to her on the sofa and the other looking through the wire in a cage.

 

Just didnt seem right to me personaly.

My Lurcher is outside has been since she was born under heating till 6 months now a big thermal bed!! She loves it! My new terrier is inside because shes about the size of my hand and its the missus dog so she'l be staying inside!! I tried putting straw in for my lurcher but she ate loads of it and she was shiting straw so I took it out!!!
