eveyone has a different style and opinion on this, so here's mine, let your pup be a pup for a while yet and then when YOU feel the pup has matured enough to have 1 or 2 EASY run's have ago mate, just take it slow, mine will be going into his second season this year and still has loads to learn.

good luck

12 months old, before it sees a rabbit, you want it as biddable as you can (trained).Because once it gets its 1st rabbit, most training goes out of the window, with young dogs anwway :wallbash: .Get the recall+retrieveing right 1st, dont worry about rabbits plenty of time for that.

Just take your time, summer is here now, and yes there's debates on wheather a pup should have a head start on milky does etc...... If your pup catches a rabbit whilst out then fair play! I'm not talking about putting pup to lamp at this age.

Hope all goes well for you.

Dog or Bitch? Bitch should be ok to start around 9 months mate. Just on easy 3/4 rabbits on the odd occassion. Make sure the chase is heavily in the dogs favour..... imagine a hare on the fens.... the further the cover the better for the dog. You will soon realise if its to early etc.
