Lucks holding out

Recommended Posts

Well i decided to have a walk out last night to try and get the buck i had seen the night before but unfortunately couldnt get a shot at because it wasnt safe.I started of at another piece of ground first where i had shot a fox last week.I stood watching the field for about 15 minutes when another fox came walking up to the exact spot were i had shot the last one. I got myself to a good vantage point and waited for it to appear but after a few minutes it still didnt appear and as i looked down the field i seen it disappear into a hollow and wander off into the edge of the wood, but as i looked through the scope i couldn't see it as the crop must be six inches higher now with all the sunshine. I couldn't get a shot off sticks as there was a big overhanging branch in the way and i watched it disappear into the wood :wallbash:. I might have to have a walk down the field with my strimmer and give his barley a trim :whistling::whistling:. I then continued on to where i shot a buck last week and where i had seen one the night before, but couldn't get a shot. I stood watching the field for 10 minutes and seen another two bucks come out of the wood with a mature buck chasing the young one again and they disappeared into the next wood. I followed them along and got set up where I thought they might come out, but they didn't. The light was starting to fade now and I started to make my way back to the car. As i turned around i watched a buck walk up the hedge line of the field i had just left so i crept back along the hedge, but as i peered over the buck saw me and trotted off down the field :wallbash:. I then decided to give up and call it a night as I got to the last field before the car i was met by a buck standing looking at me right on last light. He then took off down the field and i got laid down on the bipod, waited for him to stop and look back, but he didn't so i gave him a "hoy" and he stopped at about 200 yrds at the gate and looked back and i dropped him on the spot. He was another healthy beast weighing 44lb, exactly the same weight as i had shot the week before. :clapper::clapper:
