Hallelujah Hallelujah, Mapreader falls to knees and bows non stop for a full five minutes to both Molecatcher and Netrigger. I too use only hazel for my longnets (split ash for the old purse net pegs)apart for the first peg out of the basket, the fibre-glass pole goes in well to get the rest off to a good start. I find the fibre -glass poles much too noisy for night work, much too heavy (although i,m told there are lighter ones available)and, this is the best bit @ £3.50 a stick that would cost me £350 to rig all my five night time nets . Er I don,t think so. Could you imagine, if, in all innocence, I accidently strayed over my permission boundries and then had to run off and leave all my nice new, heavy, rattly, shiny fibre-glass poles, Iwould still be found by them following the river of tears i,d cried. Over and out Mapreader. Quote Link to post
netrigger 591
Noise!!!! of the pegs!!!!! at the end of the day the wind is the netters friend !!!! Er, the point was that even on good winds those fibre-glass jobs have only got to move slightly in the basket to play a tune that will alert the close feeders, hazel is first choice for availability and it is also the quietest that i have found. I often work on my own and as hard as you try some sticks shift in the basket. Quote Link to post

If it works for you then all power to your elbow. but for me two hands to sort out the trash. Regards. Mapreader. :thumbs-up: Quote Link to post
