Romany 1,065
herd of both men seen dogs of both and liked the doxhope.but thats only my choice atb josie were abouts is doxhope how often does he breed and has he a number to be contacted on ? see ive got my heart set on a good quality deer hound x There has not been a 100% Doxhope deerhound bred since 2001ish. David Platt is a dog breeder who does produce some good dogs, Doxhope had good working lines of deerhounds and occaisionally bred litters to continue and better what they had. First crossers by Doxhope on avaerage were usually smaller than some of the other first crosses available, mainly because of the use of Doxhope males which are smaller than males of other breds, and of course Doxhope deerhound were worked, on everything. John Doherty did the breeding, and Bill worked the dogs. Plenty of Irish lads on here mate with some cracking deerhounds, and possible some first crossers. In one of your previous posts you said, quote, "went to dave platts on sunday what a top geniune dog man who has a passion for his deerhound and cross put it this way my next pup will be from him and i will not be looking at anything else" unquote. So whats changing your mind now.. Edited April 15, 2010 by Romany Quote Link to post
chartpolski 26,789
I've a bitch pup by Doxhope Knights Errant, out of an Irish Greyhound bitch; she's 28 1/2" at 9 month old, would you say she is bigger than average for her breed ? I, personaly, think she is exactly at the height/wheight I wanted her to be, maybe I just hit lucky, or perhaps it could be her feeding/upbringing/etc ? Would you have expected a bitch to have been smaller ? Cheers. Quote Link to post
