Best thing to do would be to ask the fishery owner or bailiffs, they should know what bait is catching and at what depths, on a trout fishery i guess maggots would be banned so it only leaves worm as bait. i dont do alot of trout fishing anymore but my top tips would be constantly change the depth what you are fishing at if your not catching and to explore all areas of the lake dont stay in one spot unless your catching in that case keep calm about it or you will see other anglers slowly making there way closer and closer to your swim Richard Quote Link to post
carp king 155
i'm not sure about now but it used to be sweetcorn or worms i think and maggots were banned. did you know there was a fly and worm pond right next to new mills called Naworth fishery. i think it might be a bit cheaper than new mills and can be good at times mate. its worth a look. nakednutt 58
never heard of maggots being banned but i've heard of sweetcorn being banned on some bait ponds. if its just rainbows then stick with powerbait on the bottom. Quote Link to post

If you use the satellite on google maps you'll see the size difference. Quote Link to post
