Out of 30 people that voted to date 23 of them said they would use a proven american staghound for stud if available. If you could give reasons why you would use Stag blood in your line it would be great, Just so we can get an Idea of what you think they can offer to working dogs over here.

I think its important to keep a line of good dogs between close friends and people you trust. after all who gives a F**k what other people are running once your own dogs are top notch. Hense the reaso

Never understood needing big fields, just coz the dogs are big!? All my dogs have lamped rabbits, even in junk yards! I like a bigger dog, and mine have caught rabbits everywhere, and my two best dogs

Whin, it's not true that the Americans only run one type of dog, as you say !! Even your good mate Dutch Salmon runs a Saluki and Saluki x or two !! They also run hard blood Whippets and Greyhounds, Borzois and just about every other type of sighthound and their X's ! Much like we do ! Staghounds like Dans are bred for a specific purpose; Coyote; of course they run other things aswell, but to say Americans run only one type of dog is wrong.

Cheers.

how the fech can apup be great

No pup of any breed at any game can be worth a damn. Its impossible, you are right.

Thats it right there. Yes, they can catch rabbits, good Lord, what couldnt catch a rabbit. They can catch other things but are not great at it in my opinion. But........they are damn good on a coyote, they dont f**k around.

i would love this type of dog my self

something like kyes fawn bitch is my ideal lurcher

these dogs are getting tested and a running on much harder

ground than we have here.

my self i think the saluki did so well over here is that for generations

it was run on hard ground in a harder climate.

so if the right line of stags was brought over here i think it would do well myself

i had alot of help from kye about these dogs which i think are a cracking stamp of a dog

and he has hunted here and over there and rates these highly.

maybe one day i might have one .

a pity the laws are still bad for getting dogs over here and i even enquired about sperm

and that also needs a quarrantene for six months why i dont know and is expensive too

i might just do it some time with a pup or even sperm

i know id love too

Ya, there is one I know of and it sux. Some dickbeaters turnt loose like 10 dog gone dogs on a coyote. If you need more than 3 dogs to kill a coyote you best get some new dogs. I had a few vids of Stitch doin it single handed on there and a few with him and a couple hounds but dont have them no more. The worse part is that now they are on a dvd with all kinds of other shit and I dont know how to get em off. LOL! It wont let me just take part of it off cause of the way it was done up or something.

charti you dont need to convince me i know what runs well and what doesnt , and i know the stag hound over by is better than the scotish deerhound types we have hardeir for sure and more natural runng wind and yes some have some saluk but not much what ive saw in ten decades , over by ,if they werent good dogs i wouldnt say they were and i would not go over to hunt thtas for sure got my own hounds to hunt with that can do ajob without muchproblem they have smopoth coated stags called cold bloods and rough coated , ye they would do a job here and be better thabna alot of dogs ive saw over the years of hunting ,

in the last ten years ive saw them run all sorts and if they werent good at running or catching why would any body not want a good dog already made to run and the [bANNED TEXT] men over here to run them or test them , ille go any were to see good dogs run and better if the hospitality is there with the knowledge , and game to boot ,cant see a problem wanting something a bit diffrent of proven winners and catching dogs

Whin, I'm not trying to convince you of anything ! I'm pointing out the fact you said in a previous post that WE have all these different crosses, and THEY only have the one cross, which is patently wrong !

Cheers.

old yin listen what ive saw they only need one cross to do the job they do and thats a good cold blood or cmooth stag , which i like took me years to breed decent animals that are typey , just like them ,now they do have abit saluk but youll not se it mostly cunninham and stag , but smooth ,i like a good all rounder but its hard to keep producing them ,they are good dogs thats all im intrested in ,not shows racing ,dogs thak you can work hard and run hard ,and keep sound ,its a chioce i make but either way you can stick to the devil you know or try something you have seen for ten years etc ,
