Depends how limited your funds are, whether you're prepared to risk S/H...

I'd avoid the cheaper sigmas and Tamron lenses. If you want a zoom go for the Canon 70-300 if you want IS go for the Canon 70-300 with IS (if you want a very lightly used one of those for £350 PM me) If you've got money to burn look for a light grey Canon lens with a red stripe on it :)

You could get a 70-200 f 2.8 and banag a 1.4 TC on it. That will give you a range from 70 to nearly 300 with only loosing one stop. I guess that kit would set you back about 1200..but cheaper if you shop around......

or....

300ml f4 for a grand........

2o0ml f2.8 for £600 and whack a 1.4 TC on.....kit would be worth about £800 but you have a peice of kit that will get you some good pics.

And don't forget with the L series lenses, on your camera you will get an extra 40+% focal length anyway.....

Sigma 100-300mm f/4 EX DG APO.... for less than 800....

Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX DG MACRO HSM II........

Difficult choice.......

but..be aware who you order from on the net. always do a google search of their company name and see if there is bad reviews.... :victory:

I have the 70-300mm Canon IS lens, not sure how much they are now...but this is the one... http://www.bobatkins...0is_review.html

Can't fault it, you can really tell the difference in sharpness and colour, etc over a standard lens....

the reviews i read about them didn't exactly praise them mate...

thanks for the input.

Here you go SNAP SHOT, http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Canon-Lenses/ , thorough reviews on all canon lenses, and sample shots too! hope it helps with the decision, only advise i would suggest is to put quality before length and that all important big aperture... for action freezing shutter speeds on days when the lighting is less than ideal.... f2.8 is a godsend! not sure where you stand budget wise, but the 200mm 2.8L looks a heck of a quality lense for the money!
