Anyone got any and what do you reccomend. After some cctv i think 3 cameras will do. How many hours total would be reccorded on about 250gb hard drive?

I want a system that will only come on when motion is detected, in colour and works clearly at night. Not too fussed about it being wired or wireless. Don't want to be spending a fortune but would rather spend the extra on a decent one rather than end up paying twice becuase its shite.

So what you got lads and lasses, need some advice.

cheers

how do mate ive been doing cameras for the last 8 years for a security company you would need to get ya self a half tidy dvr with an inbuilt cd burner mate as if its only the hard drive only tipe if anyhting happens and the old bill takes the drive ya efcked till it comes back at least if youve got a burner you can do 2 copy's one for your self and one for old bill but def put time and date on them both in perminant marker. i never advise peeps to just use mation record as you could have some one snooping over the wall or just poking head around gate havea recky of the joint so i would allways use constant record if youve got a 250gb hard drive and set it at say 3ips you would prob get about 31 days or there abouts and i would go for a bullet cams with inbuilt ir lamps but check to see what the distance is on the ir ie 5 10 15 mtr range you can pick some cctv kits up from like maplins or some where like that but try looking for these people gardiners security or enterprise security these places are wholesailers but will sell to the public tell them what you want and how much you wana spen and the y can sort a package out to suit you if ya wana know anymore give us a shout mate.

i know you can get some cheapy 1s for about 150 quid but be ware they may go pop in about a year and parts you cant get for them prob best way to go is buy all from wholesailers prob 30 40 quid a camera 200 for dvr and get ya self a cheap tft monitor ie flatscreen again 40 quid or so but at least this way you have a come back and can change parts and add to it easily my advice would be to go for an 8 ch dvr not a four as you may find you could need 1 or 2 more in the future and if you got a 4 ch it would be useless and you would need to buy a new dvr again.

Here is a link www.OpticsPlanet.Net/BushnellTrail -I have had great success with the Bushnell Trophy Cam we have 35 of these that we use to scout for deer and elk. I also use them around the property for security survielance video quality is OK and they have an infered mode up to 8gig of storage and the battery life is great - 6 months on stand by.

Once has a lass take a shite in the woods and got it all on video with a Trophy Cam.
