Swampy 147
CANT BELIEVE I'M FIRST TO RAISE THIS TOPIC! 10% ABOVE INFLATION ON CIDER!!!!! FFS That could be the final straw for apple growers and pubs. Back to brewing my own again this year so fek him! My solution. Here goes. (please note that this is not necessarily my idea! I would like to see Cannabis taxed at £30 per Ounce from legalised and regulated retailers, instantly creating several £million of tax receipts while also saving us several £billion in police, judicial & prison resources. A quick back of the fag packet calculation gives us some rough figures of; At least 5 million regular Cannabis smokers in the UK Average smoker is consuming at least 10 Ounces a year Equals at least 50 million ounces of Cannabis a year being sold 50 million Ounces x £30 per Ounce = £1,500,000,000 in taxation It may not pay off the deficit but I'd be happier seeing an extra £1.5billion going to the exchequer instead of going to criminal gangs to spend on guns, gangs and people trafficking. Add in the savings from the Police, courts and prisons as well as the savings made from people gaining legal and taxable employment in the production, packaging and retailing as well as the business taxes that would be applied to companies growing and distributing Cannabis and we'd be looking at a net gain of over £3billion a year to the UK economy. Worked in Ozzy please see below! rgds Swampy stoned on cider ning
