how long after a meal ???

Recommended Posts

i only ever feed mine last thing at night that way nothing gets in the way if i decide on a last minute lamping session

i used to do same mate, but last thing means they lay till morning grubbed up, not good for digestion, mscle bilding etc. jst abot 6 oclock followed by short walk, be fine to run next morning, if you do go lamping feed them when you get back, then ots only ine night they lay.

Mine always get fed first thing in the morning now, so are always ok to run in the evening. If he's had a real hard night then he'll get a few chunks of meat and biscuits once I've got him settled.

This was raised in the working dog health subforum a while ago, I think it was as a rule of thumb about 8-12 hours after a decent feed that you can work them hard.

i dont mind if my dog has a little bit to eat just before i take him out for a full working session. i wouldnt go to work on an empty stomach so i dont expect my dog to, i find he is just a bit steadier at the begining of the night its never done him any harm yet.
