Matt 160
I think the main reason for using a little bit of 'self moderation' when you are posting is NOT the antis, and it's NOT the hunters; it's the 'don't knows' and the 'don't cares'. There is a significant number of people out there who don't really give a damn about hunting at the moment. It's just not that important to them. The problem is that our opponents are well organised, and experienced in getting their point across to these people. Just imagine what use they can make with some of the statements and pictures posted on here? If they turn just one of those 'swing voters' over to their side by misquoting something that's said on here, or adding a caption to a picture that has been posted, then we've all failed, and hunting, in it's true form, will never return to us as a legal pursuit. Then there is the legal problems that the posters of illegal activities are exposing themselves to. How many times in the last few years have we heard about forum members who have been arrested, interviewed or worse; because of information obtained off this site. You can ban as many potential 'antis' as you like, but the authorities will still be able to access the forum, and potentially look in detail at your profile etc. Use some sense, and think about the potential effects of all of this on your family, your dogs, your job, and the rest of the hunting community, and post accordingly. There are plenty of less good sites out on the world wide web for those who don't care. Quote Link to post
whin 463
them that are serous about hunting will just go quitely , and keep doing it ,in other forms ,the bans have juat slowed us down and be more clever ,iw as brought up round estates was never going to get permision for coursing etc before the ban and was never going to get it after the ban since the ban i have more permision than before because i went out my way to find it and well life goes on theonly thing diffrent they can try and take your dogs charge you but in scotland they have always tried to do do that for deer salmon etc so nothings changed just they have got more clever and under handed for abit of table meat or fish etc , or on abigger scale money ,i realy think if you have not being brought up in the game then it will be more difficult but that leaves more game for serous hunters who have , THE BAN pain and one day wil get reapealed and hopefully more sensibility etc , cause it suites the big landowners cause they stil do what they want at times and the poorer class have to duck and dive so its not realy changed that much for some cheers, taking dogs has thats all in scotland , keep putting shite in papers ,but hat can be nulllified easily with some god propaganda and charitey work done by lurcher enthusaiasts , givin money to iraq soldiers and making sure the loca rags no about it , all sorts of ways to promote hunting cheers Quote Link to post
sambam 8
it seems like animals have more rights than humans nowadays, i thought it was a human right to hunt? it seems since the ban more idiots have got into lurchers, mabey because of the media coverage the idiots think that looks good, i know there have been idiots in the game for years. i hope the lurcher game will get better soon, i was brought up with running dogs and all the goings on involved, i love the sport but for now im holding back and try my hardest to stay within the law, its hard enough to get a job without a criminal record and i dont want one, why should we be classed as a criminal for somthing we love and is somthing that has been done for hunderds of years, sam Quote Link to post
