i was approached by a chap from the orgnisers of the game fair at the west country game fair, anyone recomend it?

IMHO it used to be much better than it is now. Used to have plenty of bargains and used to be a cheapish and very enjoyable day out. Seems highly commercialised these days with little in the way of cheap bargains, or I might be getting tighter. Chris Greens show is always top notch. I think the admission is cheaper this year, I am sure we paid £12.50 each a few years back, but even at £9 it's 18 sobs for me & the Mrs. Food & drink is extortionate there but much the same at all fares. A few years back I would have given it 9/10, didn't bother last year and the year before 5/10. From a traders point of view, there is a lot of people and lots of cash but then there is a lot of competition.

entrance fees on them all is a f**king rip off.when i got in touch with the organisers about the entrance fee they said that the price of things go up.so i said how come it costs so much to go into a field, which probably costs a couple of hundred quid to rent and they make thousands from it they all a bunch of con merchants. :wankerzo4:

Here is My opinion I have probably attended most of the Game fairs in England and Wales, with one or Two exceptions,Without doubt the Welsh is the best,in that its layout is spot on,short walk from the car park to everything, alongside the river with fishermans row,the Terrier and Lurcher Show is absolutely massive in the quality and quantity of dogs it attracts, the only downside is that there can be queues going in if You catch it wrong, gone for the last Twenty Years and will be at this Years.

You won't go wrong there Fish, The warrener was there last year selling his caty's for feckin stupid money. I went last year on the sunday. It was a 500 mile round trip for me and it was well worth it. Apart from the yorkshire gamefair it was one of the best shows i attended.
