Excellent shooting mate, videos are geting real good aswell. This sort of instructional vid becomes timeless for experienced and new. You're probably going to think 'God theres always something I 'missed out', but the 'artillery hold' as some call it, could do with a mention, however I'm sure you've got it planned for the real product; the DVD. Im sure you understand what I mean by the hold; The way of letting the gun recoil itself without restriction and a tight grip, with almost the gun being loosley shelved by the shooters hand.

Although I have been aware of this 'obvious' technique for years, it was only a few months back when I was shooting a bit shit for a few shoots on targets, (didnt want/let myself go into the field until I knew I was hitting the spot again) that I realised that the more frustrated I became I was holding the gun tighter, becoming less relaxed etc as you mentioned. I dont have patience when I think I could be waiting for a missed shot as my equip was not syncronised with my techniques/scope. It was only after looking online again and seeing some video mentioning it that the next day I went back and got my accuracy back.

I'll avoid being such a tight arse soon mate once I'm out the shit in money, and will buy a DVD. More than likely the springer one heheh, looking forward to it. Just from that vid I'm edging to get out Bristol and back to the country hhaah!

All the best

Hi Jack,

Ive never heard the term "Artillery Hold" mate, but what you have described is what i do and probably 99% of all the regs on here anyway mate when shooting any rifle.

If you pull the rifle too tight into your body your muscles are put under un needed pressure and you are stopping the rifle recoiling correctly which is what it was designed to do.

All you need to do is relax when you are shooting.

The word relax says it all mate and if you can manage to do this then you are not stopping recoil and you will improve.

Hey buddy,

I know its not a typical name, but heres a VERY basic video that reminded me of it.

Like I said, you all are very familiar with it, its a basic, but that grip on the front part of the rifle is what throws accuracy out if you dont do it properley on alot of spring guns, no matter how nice the enigeneering of your gun. I mentioned it as it would be a shame if someone put your video techniques into practice and because they were 'trying to hard' e.g holding to tight, and shots were flying all over the place.

All the best

Jack
