comanche 3,298
Messages credited with coming from my E-mail account are being sent out to people on my contact list but I'm not sending them . Hope that makes sense . They seem to be advertising material for mobile phones . It'ds as if my e-mail has been highjacked . Has anyone else had this problem and is it curable . Any advice please would be most appreciated as I am a bit of a technophobe at the best of times . thanks in advance .

Guest jt750
Sounds like a virus of sorts ..your computer will have a small piece of malicious code that is hi jacking your e mail account and sending itself to all on your contact list ..do a virus scan and a malware scan to see if anything is there ...if not look in your task manager and check out all the different services that are running on your computer ..failing that a re installation of windows might be the answer

The Ferret Tamer 1
Make sure you have a decent anti virus and it is kept up to date, secondly get yourself an anti spyware program and run this alongside your AV. Also download a copy of Malwarebytes anti malware program and run this and see what it finds. Regards FT

ade33uk 86
As its been said download malware and super anti spyware , update both programs and restart your computer as it starts presss f8 key and boot computer into safe mode . run malware and fix any problems found . then restart again pressing f8 and run superanti spyware , fix any problems and restart . If its a hotmail account you have most probably been hacked so change the password or even delete the account if you dont use it .
mushroom 14,247
Restart your computer and keep pressing f8 until a screen with a list appears select safe mode from that list. This is basically your computer under hypnosis it can't do much apart from safe programs and repairs. In safe mode run your virus/spyware software this should hopefully clear the crap. restart computer and see. What virus software you using????
