MR TEA POT 1,287
went out about 8:30 for a hours ferreting took one jill and a few nets, the plan was to go to a small farm just down the road never great numbers on here but a few to keep the freezer topped up.Pulls in to the drive and saw a rabbit run off the field in to a roadside hedge, went for a look and found a 5 hole sett, started setting the nets the road was quite busy, lorrys where hurtling past spraying me with water and crap of the roads so wet through the nets where set ferret entered.About a couple of minates passed when WHAM first one in the net, could not hear any thumping for the traffic. So reset the net and waited, took the camera out for a pic when WHAM a double bolt right at my feet so very quick pic and rabbits dispatched.Ferret shown after so time to move on.Went to a field at the back of the farmers garden there was a mound of earth and rocks which he said was his rockery just looked like a mess to me .Started setting the nets when suddenly a rabbit bolted stright into a net ferret had not even been entered yet.So nets on ferret in a bit of thumping and WHAM rabbit in the net.The ferret shown so it was time to pack up and head home.So all in all not a bad hours work. A few pics. Has far as the eye can see is mine First sett of the day, look at all the rubbish, thrown out by passing motorist The double bolt. The farmers rockery Warren on top of the rockery. END OF DAY SHOT. Quote Link to post

MR TEA POT 1,287
You wonder why the rabbits would live there with the noise of the traffic etc , This bank is normaly covered with brambles but the farmer cut it down along with the hedge,so i suppose the rabbits felt safe under the undergrowth. TJONES3862 Where abouts do you live pm if you want Ferretville sound like a nice easy do for you can't fault you,i got home gasping for a brew then found out we had no milk .So round the shops in my ferreting togs looking rather scruffy and smelling a bit Thanks for the replies folks Quote Link to post
