ferreting sunday

Recommended Posts

Well sunday we were away again markg with his little bull whippet cross me with blaze as usual to mark for us a couple of ferrets and a bag full of nets.

the hour drive ended we parked in a little side lane with a few nice little setts that normally produce a few quick rabbits for very little hard work :hideingbhindcurtian: as soon as we looked at the holes i knew some one had been before us due to the fact there were holes dug all over and not back filled :grrr: not only f****d the sett but not making the farmer very happy anyway we only manage one rabbit from what should have been a good little touch  ,next time lads try and leave it as you found it that way even you can get to use the sett again idiots :grrr:

Any way we moved to another location and the sleet was coming straight down soaking us from the off the dogs marked a few setts producing ones and twos best sett of the day held nine rabbits along an old drystone wall we managed seven of those missing two from unseen holes a couple of three foot digs got a couple and we moved onto the next sett . mark dropped the ferret into a small sett and the bolting rabbit was caught with a tumbling strike by sam that put a smile on marks face :) a slow walk back to the car picking odd rabbits out of setts the dogs were marking had us on twenty rabbits. we had a quick sarnie and did a few more setts resulting in a further eight rabbits made the total to twenty eight after we gutted them a quick pic for markg.
