honesthunter 13
i would be interested in it myself because the dingo is a wild dog but was domesticated once, and people domesticate them now, i would see it as a little experiment, a bit like selectively breeding wolves till they became our dogs of today. I don't know what the results would be. just wondering if any of you boys from aus could shed some light on it, has it been done? and was there any point? hh and a pre-emptive 'f**k you' to any messers that decide that this is stupid, it aint, its just observation and debate, its how your mind grows. allow it. hedz31 1,308
I think its an interesting topic as most of the dingo blood on mainland oz is now mixed with domestic blood anyway, is it frazer island to the south where the only pure blood remains ??.i think it would out of curiosity make an interesting mix a dingo is fast, hardy and has a wild prey drive dont know what they would be like to stock break though. Sorley x 32
I'm sure it has happened but probably not shouted about. You might have more luck trying some of the other primitive breeds. Edited January 21, 2010 by Sorley x Quote Link to post

chartpolski 26,335
A freind of mine in Oz had a "domesticated" Dingo. It was very freindly and lived in the house and was well house trained. It got on well with the other dog, a Skye Terrier; but you could not let it of the lead, if you did it had to be cornered and got agressive when caught. It had the run of a big paddock but would dig under the fence and escape if not watched constantly! A few Ozzies have tried domesticating them and breeding them, but with little success. Cheers.
