beddy or weaton crooss

the whaten x will usually throw bigger powerfuller dogs than the beddy cross but if your pick your breeding right you can end up with a big set bedlington cross mines 23" at 6 months old and built like a brick shithouse, both crosses wear there hearts on there sleeve and both take a good cross too beat them at what they do there both game on ALL quarry, i reckon there about on par but thats just my oppinion i wouldnt mind putting a whaten grey too my beddy x in years too come if she does the job... either way if you pick your breeding correctly and do the job right you wont be dissapointed with either cross

experience in beddys is near zero but i run both crosses now.... the beddy is a 1st cross and my wheaten is a 3/4grey cross!!! they will both be getting a good 1st test this season because with the floods last season it was a disaster.... but anywho, to be honest unless the wheaten wakens up a bit i think the beddy is a winner so far regards prey drive!!!! 1st cross wheatens are usually alot harder but also heavier built and less racey!! and i think when you cross them back to a greyhound you lose that wee bit of somethin special that wheatens bring to the table!!! somebody else on here had the same opinion on 3/4grey bull crosses!!! there is pictures of them both on my gallery

You have more chance of getting the goods with a Wheaten cross than a Beddy cross in my opinion.Don't get me wrong both can be the business. But I think you have a higher percentage chance with the Wheaten they also make a nice steady cross that goes about its work in a calm and thinking manner.

lots of wheaten cross lurchers in ireland but not many good ones IMO. ive only seen one first cross bedlington over here think it was bred by heartbreak kennels but it was the real deal on toothed quarry. have seen a few wheaten crosses but none have stood out.
