Kaiserdog 20
One of my Ferrets (albino Jill, age unknown as is a rescue, spayed ) ex worker of mine now retired, has a small bald patch with no fir on her back approx size of the tip of my index finger, she's had this for about 2weeks, it shows no sign of irritating her, in every other aspect she appears fine & bright, all my ferrets eat well on a meat & pellet diet, & i can see no sign of mange or ringworm. I was wodering if anybody can give me any pointers or is it nothing to be concerned about? Cheers, Dave. Quote Link to post
Jamie93 57
Do you have any hobs in with her? If so then this is more than likely the reason. Nothing to be concerned about it is just the norm. If it gets any worse put her away from the hob for a while to give her a rest. Happy Hunting Jamie93 Quote Link to post

Happy Hunting Jamie93 I do have a sterilised hob in with her, i'll give it a try but do you think its the hob causing the patch? Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
Maybe your hob is feeling that Spring is in the air a little early, just keep an eye on them and see what happens, especialy the jill, can you put a pick up? Quote Link to post
The one 8,593
Sounds like he could be trying her on already have his teste's dropped ?? Quote Link to post
Kaiserdog 20
The hob she lives with is castrated & never appears to bother her, if anything she's the one that bullies him most of the time. Quote Link to post
Kaiserdog 20
Unfortunately having trouble uploading pics, but will give it another try, examined her tonight & it doesn@t appear any worse, Finding a vet in Birmingham that knows more than just the basics on ferrets is a problem, may have to travel to find a good one if it gets any worse. Gday Kaiserdog, You've pretty much answered your own querys. A vet IMO is the best option here as you really don't know what has caused the loss of hair. At least you will have a certified assessment for your ferret. Well worth the travel to find out what it is as it could lead to more hair loss on more of your stock if not attended to. All the best with it. Cheers, Shaun Quote Link to post
