Good luck take it SLOW. Quote Link to post

If i were u id get in with some lads that know about dogs n their quarry.. 6 months old is way too early for any dog to seen quarry of a larger magnitude, he's only just old enough for rats.. Keep him on rats for a few months.. Wait n be patient n when u think he's ready wait some more, it'l pay off in the long run.. Pa Quote Link to post

jpnixon 7
definately no foxes at that age mate and as one of the lads said get rid of ur mate an get outwith someone who knows what the are doing. Your mate hasnt got a clue, u can work away at the rats wit your dog for now but dont show him a fox until next season he should be mature enough than to start. Ye might hear of boys gettin dogs started at 6 months but that few and far between and just luck that they dont chuck it. Quote Link to post
Hagen 11
A friend of me is a German trainer for huntingdogs. He would never let a 6 month old Terrier on fox, no matter if the dog want it or not. You ruin the dog. I think your mate doesn't know much about Terrier. Quote Link to post

Cleanspade 3,324
YOU HAVE TO WONDER HOW MANY WELL BRED TERRIERS ARE RUINED BY IGNORANT OWNERS THEN GET PASSED ON GIVING A BAD NAME TO THE FOLK THAT BRED THEM A GOOD AGE TO START A YOUNG TERRIER IS BETWEEN 18 MONTHS TO TWO YEARS OLD. A LITTLE EARLIER IF YOU KNOW THE BREEDING WELL ENOUGH. Quote Link to post
