njc110381 0
If it was anywhere near civilisation I'd shoot it. These things are known to be a danger to humans in other countries, what makes them any different here? I should think that ignoring the conditions of your FAC under these circumstances (ie public safety) is reasonable. I'd take lots of pictures and report it. You could always say it was squaring up to a friend and get them in sharpish to leave some good footprints as evidence to be on the safe side! I wouldn't leave it. It's not native so it's not welcome. Just like the Grey Squirrel really! Quote Link to post
jonnygray 139
its obvious that you shoot it first then slip the dogs and let them retrieve it! now i would pay to get a go at that! Quote Link to post
COMPO 54
never been fortunate enough to have the gun with me when i saw a large cat If it was from a zoo they wouldn't be too bothered by you shooting it, they have firearms trained keepers for such eventualities anyway and dont worry about the licensing department its the sun newspaper for the £50,000 for a cat carcass and conclusive proof is where i would be going! I now always carry a few SG and AAA carts when out shooting .......................better to be equipped and ready than miss the opportunity again Quote Link to post
jackinbox99 41
Me & a mate saw what we thought was a massive black cat (or something) one evening after checking out some permission we had. Sods law I didnt have my shotgun with me, but we both felt very un-easy seeing this "thing" walking around where we had been standing minutes before. Luckily the car was closer than the cat, so we didnt hang about to verfiy exactly what breed the cat. I think if i was wandering about and the cat decided to get a bit fruity, id definately give it both barrels, but if it was minding its own business, id leave it alone. Quote Link to post
