billy_wizz 2
Just used a red filter for the first time and my 6 year old bitch that has spotted one sitter in her whole life spotted all 3 sitters picking one out its seat nearly having another one and going straight to the 3rd but it jumped early! Anyone know why she can see them on the filter but not without? Quote Link to post

bullmastiff 615
Maybe because using white light at close range washes the colour out of everything? so it can't spot the Rabbit properly but using a Red filter dulls the surrounding light down but still iluminates the eyes? Just a guess though? Quote Link to post
nighteyes 275
its the red filter picks up there eyes 10 times better, like rubys even better in winter stubble never lamped with out one and never would Quote Link to post
bull101 35
the red filter makes the eyes stand out alot more, you will notice a lot more rabbits around the hedge row's with the filter on Quote Link to post
foxlamper80 28
I use my red filter all the time. Dose anybody use any other colour filters and are they any good Quote Link to post
bullmastiff 615
I've always used a red filter for spotting, the eyes stand out much better, then swing it out the way once the dogs on. It's easier to watch the action with white light. Quote Link to post

Tyla 3,179
i've just started using a yellow filter as the bunnies seem oddly twitchy about white light this season. So far im quite impressed, dosent dull the beam very much and they dont seem as lamp shy. Either that or the last few nights have just been better weather Quote Link to post
