It's acidic, so yes probably. A lot (most?) of the bladder and urinary problems stem from alkaline conditions in the body. I'm sure someone will have all the background information to clarify though. A high protein diet (rather than a high carbohydrate one) would have the same effect, and be of better use in the long run. JMHO.

it works in humans so i see no reason for it to not work in a dog, it is very high in antioxidants and vitamin c.

as rainmaker sayes if the urine is ascidic it helps stop problems like infections & crystals forming into to stones

Best way to prevent it is to feed meat , a lot of dry foods are soya protein based which isnt the same as meat protein

Vitamin C tablets are good for urine infections. You can get tablets from health food shops or Boots. They are great for acidifying the urine, and if there are crystals present vitamin C actually dissolves them.

They would need to drink a hell of a lot to make any real difference!

If a dog is getting a lot of urinary tract infections then there is probably an underlying cause that needs investigating/treating. You wouldn't want to create an acidotic state, to much change in the PH (even little changes have a dangerous effect). Cranberry juice also effects blood clotting Etc Etc.
