Guest daenbmw
My 2 year old needs a bitch i think to keep him off legs, pillows and blankets. He comes from v good lines so would be a shame to have him done. Any ideas
collie/grey 238
Mate him to a bitch and he'll be 10 times worse. And at 2 year old he can't be a proven worker. Get him castrated and that should help with the mounting.
littlefish 598
Good advice Collie/Grey. Why breed pups for this reason alone when there are so many unwanted out there? If he is castrated he should be more settled and able to concentrate on his work instead of making a nuisance of himself. So many Springers seem scaty and excitable, pissing themselves all over the place at the smallest excuse.
scouse moocher 0
I agree with the above but not having a go mate, alot of people are under the impression once a dog gets his wack they calm down, obviously as already explained mate this aint the case, ive got a jack russell dog who has seen to many a bitch and is still as excitable as ever. However if the dogs from good lines and your intention IS to work the dog to the best of his ability you may find the dog does make the grade and would like to breed from in the future to a bitch of the same high standard to keep the line going. So unless you think it would be much less fuss to get him neutured your legs are just gunna have to put up with those springer advances he keeps making :11: Good luck in whatever you decide Ant
Dawn B 212
Castrating him will only stop him bonking everything, shouldnt make any difference to anything else. Id get him done if I were you, or at least try a "Tardak" injection fist, a chemical castration that lasts 4-6 weeks, if you like the effect, then you can go for the permanent solution! Dawn. AKA-BRINDLE 879
I read somewhere that after 6 months theres little point castrateing a male dog to stop sexual behaviour as by this time Testostrone levels will be set in the dogs body, and if it was a case of breeding to stop humping then f**k knows how many kids i would have by now! Guest MOLLY
I read somewhere that after 6 months theres little point castrateing a male dog to stop sexual behaviour as by this time Testostrone levels will be set in the dogs body, I was led to believe the same. neutering an adult dog just stops them being able to reproduce, it wont stop anything else. Ive got a spayed bitch who humps my legs everytime i dance and another spayed bitch, who humps the speyed bitch who humps me MOLL.
