Guest MOLLY
A bit of an obscure question really ...ive seen a 'type' of lurcher only about 3 times in my life and they all look the same, was just wondering what x they would probably be? They are always tall dogs 27" upwards are all creamy/white but its the coat which facinates/confuses me...the only way i could describe it is looking like an Afghan hound with a shorter coat...not as short as clipped but halfway...very thick, fluffy, straight hair. Ive seen one again lately and would just like an idea what would produce a coat like that? MOLL. Quote Link to post

Guest lazylurchers
Like this? If so they are saluki lurcher type, and there are a lot around your area. They get even woollier when they have be clipped out for coursing and it grows back softer and and fluffy. I'm sure some of the coursing lads will be a long to tell you exactly where the coat comes from. I believe they are from the Merlin/Eve lines where there is weaten and bedlington blood. I would be interested to here exactly where the coat come from if any one knows about Eve's breeding? Quote Link to post

Guest lazylurchers
Have remembered that there was an article about these types of dogs (Merlin and Eve lines) in EDRD mag a year or so back - never got the chance to read it properly but I think there was mention of Wheaton and Beddy - would also be interested if anyone knows more.
