good few hours out

Recommended Posts

hi all, been up to my permission this afternoon after the rain stopped, when i got there a magpie was sitting feeding on a dead mixi in the field so that went in the bag from about 20 yards,

i spooked 2 rabbits with the shot so then i decided to lay up in the corner of a hedge for a while, i was there for 20 mins and nothing appeared so i got up and walked to the woods down the hill and as soon as i entered the woods i saw a squirrel shoot round a tree, it then made its first, and last mistake. Peering round the tree to see what was happening, BANG it dropped down and twitched on the floor for about a second then lay still, at that point i saw 2 more running around in the canopy, (semi anchent beechwoodland) I shot one and it just hung there but the other was still there so i shto that one too, that one got stuck in the forn of 2 branches on the way down :wallbash: another ran out of a drey 2 mins later and shot that one too, this one fell into brambles so i left that one...

in an attempt to get one that was hung up there down i decided to shoot at its leg which was gripping the branch, that didnt work, i blew its leg off but the other leg was stil on it so i gave up.

but all in all a good day.
