mark01856 7
not sure as to put this in the airgun or shotgun section as i used both.sorry. this morning i woke up and never had a hangover(that is unusual for a sunday ) and it looked a fairly good day out the window,so i had my breakfast and thought i would go out for a blast. i took my new AA s410 tdr in .177 flavour, out for a look, as i have not used it yet, i zeroed it in my garden, and headed up the road to one of my permisions,(i forgot to say, i have not had .177 before.) anyway, there was cattle in the field so went a different route, saw the first bunny about 30 yards away, squeezed the trigger, and the rabbit dropped, with just a little twitch of the leg, i moved up to another little hot spot, and 2 rabbits sat 2 yards apart, from probably 35 yards away, hit it and it dropped instantly, and the other rabbit still sat there( i was very surprised) so i went to crack that one BUT the other one started twitching and sprung back to life, and they were both gone. i wasn't best pleased. i shot at another one at about 15 yards, and stopped it dead. but the weather turned crap so decided to call it a day. I was walking back home quite pleased with the .177 but realised there is no room for error in shot placement!! one bad thing is the very low shot count on the tdr. After my lunch i was sat playing my xbox, and got really bored and the weather had cleared up(we have all seasons in one day up here,ha ha) so i looked in the cabinet and was going to take my semi auto shotgun out, but saw my old single barrel webley shotgun sitting there, i dont know why but i just had the urge to give it a go. anyway, i walked back up to the same permission as i went this morning, but to the other side. i unpacked the shotty and walked about 30 yards and there was my first(unfortunate) rabbit sitting about 5 yards away thinking it was hidden, i squeezed the trigger, and well you can imagine the rest, i walked around for a while and shot another three rabbits, i dont know why i never use this shotgun, im loving it at the moment(maybe not as practical as the semi auto, but it is fun) it was just starting to get dark, and i headed back, but had to stop and admire the view over the Pentland Firth. popped another two wabbits before i got back. I had a really perfect day today, might sound a bit wierd but i just loved being out on my own all day with the great views. i better stop typing now, as you can probably tell i dont do write ups very often, but i want to contribute a bit to the site, ATB Mark .
