Making a knife

Recommended Posts

I'm planning on making a knife (or rather the sheath and handle) but I need to know a few things; Where's the best place to get a blade? I don't really want a particularly expensive one as it'll probably turn out poor anyway, so less than a tenner. Secondly what do you use to fill up the void between the two halves of the handle? Third what do you get to pin the handle halves and blade together?

I've got most of the material; I can get wood easily enough (I think), same goes for some leather, and I have all the things needed to make the handle, and I know enough to do it (again, I think) but any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Theres a mail order place called Attleborough Accessories that do all the stuff you'll need like that but I don't have their address, if you google it it will be easy to find. I have had other stuff from them, they are cheapish, quality and quick, good service. Cheers, D.
