Forgot to add, I also used to follow the Newcastle Beagles; should THEY not be allowed to hunt hares ????

thats what I dont like.. when people turn against fellow huntsmen for doing things differently... as long as the hare is given the upmost respect, not over hunted or killed during breeding season then good luck to you whatever method you use.

I often follow the Newcastle beagles as well, great little hounds!!

am against it a hare is an athelte only ppl l know course hares at night is because there dogs are no good during the day every 1 knows that a hare on the lamp is nothing like a hare during the day and l read on this site alot off ppl shouting hares thats even worse what is the point l just dont know??????????

With all due respect mate.Your taking crap.To say a dog is no good during the day because some people prefer lamping is just foolish.Had dogs that could do both quite easily.And i would rather run my dogs by day anytime.Pre-Ban.atb. Catcher

think u have your head mixed up its not about if your dog is better during the day or night its about hares and lamping them

My opinion is i would rather see a dog behind them than them getting shot atleast they no whats coming where as they havent a chance when a cross is on them,hares and dogs dont go together for you chimp anyway you dont even own a dog

 

i never run hares when i had the mutts and im in around the fens . so your right dogs and hares and me dont go.

 

i will continue to shoot as many as i can and i will be thinking of you while im doing it atb

 

oh and i must add i have no problem dogmen taking hare fox or anything else its just a shame some cannot support others doing ALL forms of hunting , just goes to show how much grey matter they have

but shootind hare rabbit fox is not hunting its easy a dog is 50-50 either it gets caught or i gets away ppl like u shoot things is not hunting its a sport so go shoot ducks or something

It doesnt bother me how people do it,ive shot hundreds of them and other things what i was saying is a hare should be run with a dog imo day or night at least it comes down to the dog and the hare,when you point a cross onto there head and pull the trigger its to easy what ever the quarry is your after

massive statement there !!! i joined thehuntlinglife , lets break that down ....the hunting life ...ok what is on the hunting life ? shooting , dogs , ferreting, netting , fishin, birds etc.. it's all hunting

the people who are saying there easy on the lamp are saying it in most cases because there dogs have caught them. its not just people saying it for the fun of it. some will be hard yea but if your dog find night time hares hard all the time it cant be up to much. i tell you what lamping hares has done to a good animal its dropped the level going about as you get guys shooting them chaseing them and well , some places wiped out , i learnede my ways along time ago with hares ,any way have fun whatever and when they are all lamped shot well they will be scarce like mostbthings over pursued ,
