hw100sniper 2 Posted October 3, 2009 Report Share Posted October 3, 2009 I seen a pic of a shot fox which looked to have had its tail fur taken off leaving the bone on the fox ,cant seem to find the pic anymore but is anyone familier with this practise and how its done .My mate keeps all the fox tails that ive shot and the 1 hes got so far and i was just wondering if this was an easier wat of getting the fur of(hes ripped a few taking the fur of the tail) Cheers Billy Quote Link to post

ATB. Snap. Snap is right. When you cut round the base of the tail make sure you are only cutting the skin otherwise you will pull the whole tail off. You can use 2 stick your shooting sticks or whatever just grip them nice and tight and steadily pull. ATB martin Quote Link to post

hw100sniper 2 Posted October 3, 2009 Author Report Share Posted October 3, 2009 Riohh you got it spot on he pulled the full tail of the 1 I shot on tuesday and as we didnt even see a charlie in the field last night (seen 2 on roadways while travelling between farms) he never got a second go at it .Bit of a good job tho as he wasnt using dowels just trying to gently tug it of. trapperman 476 Posted October 3, 2009 Report Share Posted October 3, 2009 i dont do it any more but i did when i first started out i just used to cut round the bottom of the tail and then use a split hazel rod cut out of the hedge pushed over then just squize and pull when they go they just fly off Quote Link to post
