ferret15 0
i received a pm asking how to go about getting there dog tattooed so i thought i would post this link here as it may be of some use to others http://www.dog-register.co.uk/locations/index.html i know that there are people on this site that can tattoo and or microchip so maybe we could start our own list of people and locations for those of us that wish to microchip or tattoo our dogs. with all the dog thefts going on at the moment every Little helps Quote Link to post

Annmarie09 5
Thanks for that, I am planning to get my dog done, I am in Fife if there is anyone closer than those on the list that can do it I would be interested to hear from them. I do have a couple of questions, is it particularly painful, and is it like a human tattoo or not as deep? Quote Link to post

I do have a couple of questions, is it particularly painful, and is it like a human tattoo or not as deep? they yelp, but it last for a split seconds not as painfull as a micro chip in my opinion. its not like a human tattoo its more like a stamp of needles so all pricks are done in one go then the ink is rubbed in to the holes. (hope this makes sense) and the aftercare is totally different to no need to keep it moisturized like a human one. there is a telephone number on the home page they might be able to tell you of a someone closer to you who hasent updated there details yet ? Annmarie09 5
Thanks for that, I am planning to get my dog done, I am in Fife if there is anyone closer than those on the list that can do it I would be interested to hear from them. Thanks very much for your reply, I did wonder how it could be done without pinning the dog down as the site states no sedative needed! I will give your idea a try and phone the number on the site. With all the dogs being stolen recently (including one lifted from the local park when the owner was walking it) I am getting even more paranoid than usual. Fly is microchipped but I got her done when she was tiny and her skin was all loose, so she didn't really feel it. I know that chips can occasionally fail so I want the tattoo done as an extra safeguard and deterrent. Cheers Edited October 4, 2009 by Annmarie09 Quote Link to post
