POISON ALERT- BLIDWORTH NOTTS

Recommended Posts

pLEASE WARN OTHERS IN AREA UNTIL WE GET TO BOTTOM OF ALERT

Yesterday I received an urgent email from the manager of my local rescue centre in Blidworth warning me not to go to the woods with my dogs because 15 dogs have already died of suspected poisoning .

I'm trying to get more information and get the word round locally. Apparently it was on the local radio.

I heard this morning that area of woodland connected to the incidents is Haywood Oaks woods, Blidworth, Nottinghamshire

It could be someone deliberately laying bait for dogs to take, or laying poison for other species ( eg rats/ badgers), something the Forestry Commission have put down or a naturally occuring toxin ( like the blue algae on stagnant ponds which affects the nervous systems and produces symptoms of poisoning).

I have also heard from a farming source there have been a number of cases of Weil's disease in an area not far away.

I don't think there are many members on here who would exercise dogs in those woods but just in case please note.
