Guest The Shaman
I work on a big chemical site doing the grounds maintenance. I am out all times of the year in all weather. We use 4x4 to get around as some of the site is pretty remote and left alone. We don't get ramblers or that kind of thing so the wildlife is pretty much damn well left alone. The place is teeming with rabbits, hares, foxes and has a healthy population of deer, I tried to get permission to shoot there but the f**cking lawyers said no. :realmad: Anyway last year I was going down a little used track in the landrover, had a colleague in the passenger seat and was doing maybe 10 miles an hour. Because it has pipelines, with scary nasty shit inside them, next to the trackway it'd be reckless to go much faster. I know I'm rambling a bit but bare with me. Anyway about, about 30 - 40 yards in front of me I saw something about the size of a large dog basking on the trackway. As it became aware of me it rose up went underneath the pipes and stood looking at me for a split second. It was the size and colour of a red setter, but not the long coat. It had a roundish head without the big muzzle, and when it moved it's tail it wasn't a wag like a dogs it sort of curled and uncurled near the end like a cat would do. I was grabbing my mates arm and saying "what the f*cking hells that" but when he looked to where it had been it was gone. I got a bit of stick and everytime we passed a moggy i'd get the old "theres your Durham Puma" jokes. But I know what I saw.
Guest Ditch_Shitter
Yep. Cougar or a Lynx. I have no problem with that, mate
Guest whippet
Lynx have a stubby tail, colouring sounds like cougar. No problem here either.
BlueCoyote 0
yep it dosent say super preditor to me eitherbut im not convinced about them teeth tho but as for some mutant no as for some f****d up cross yep akita was metioned on another thread and i reconed it might be down that line crossed with something small ok i'm late on this.. but i like cryptozoology... i have to agree that this is a dog of some sort. i would say.. CHOW! at this moment i know a chow/akita mix that that resembled this little beast. even though she is silver and black when she was a pup she had the same coat and fur length as this thing. This is Chelsea... ... she can squeeze through the tiniest of spaces in order to escape. she will also attack other animals just for sport, including horses, a great dane, a pit bull, and a collie(all dogs she grew up with) but what else can you expect from a dog thats lived her entire life on a chain and never given half a chance? aaaand my other guess is a black coyote.. they do exist.. possibly a coydog. where i'm from a coyote/dog mix is a horrible animal that wont hesitate to rip the hide off a labrador. and the weird noises... well coyotes howl, yip, yell, scream.. the first time i heard a family of coyotes it sounded like children on a play ground. http://www.geocities.com/rainforest/vines/1318/blkcoy.html also to add interest.. i found a picture of the mystery animals paw .. still looks like a regular dog paw except for the dew claw... needs trimming dont you think!? more pics here - http://www.cryptomundo.com/cryptozoo-news/memutantbuzz/ also.. here's a black dog that looks like an adult version of this one and i want to mention the teeth.. this animal is only speculated to be some monster.. i still think its a puppy.. probably a chow mix puppy.. which would explain why the teeth look larger than they should. If its a six month old chow pup then he has all his adult teeth but still has some more growing to do.... so of course they will look much larger than normal. Now if you want to see something truly weird and ugly... check this out.. http://www.cryptozoology.com/gallery/displ...ture.php?id=784 there are other pictures of it but i cant find them... this was found on the side of the road in Louisiana(so i read in an article years ago).. supposedly the woman that found it actually had it sent off to a lab for identification and no one ever called her back.. so the legend says.. but honestly... from a photograph taken by an individual it could be anything.. same as the above "mystery animal" ... someone could have staged the whole thing. seems mighty odd that you wouldnt take a TON of pictures of some never before seen animal... or, do like one woman did... cut its head off and put it in the freezer until its properly identified!! http://news.mongabay.com/2007/1101-chupacabra.html

Neal 1,930
Last year I taught a class of reception children (4 to 5 year olds) and our end of year school play was based on a book called "The Gruffalo." That head shot looked just like a Gruffalo!
