dai dogs 1,955
anyone ever done it. example = deerhound bitch you breed her to greyhound you also breed her to apbt. resulting in a mixed litter some first cross deerhound grey some first cross apbt deerhound. would be difficult to define which pups are which untill they got older. could save a lot of time if someone wanted to rear two pups out of the same bitch by different sires.. Malt 379
We had a springer bitch years ago when I was a kid, got out when she was in season and had a mixed litter. Some looked half collie, some looked half lab, and some we couldn't make out! All the pups were given away as pets, free to good homes. Quote Link to post

Tuzo 251
It is certainly possible.......i've saw a russell bitch give birth to 3 russell's and a russell x staff in the same litter Quote Link to post
Dawn B 212
Its been done in the US for years with pedigree dogs. People will mate a bitch to two stud dogs and DNA test the resulting pups to see who's is whos'! Dont think its allowed here, effectively you have two litters of puppies if all goes well. Greedy if you ask me! Edited September 2, 2009 by Dawn B Quote Link to post
dowlo18 1
i doubt that is possible, if it is then you should be able to do it with other animals and even humans :S and i have never heard of a women having twins with two different dads lol Quote Link to post
swamp rat 0
identical twins come from one egg that splits but un identical twins come from 2 different eggs so in thery it is possible in humans if the woman had sex with 2 men at same time and each man fertilised a different egg. in dogs you would have to have the dna test like dawn says or you could never be 100% sure which dog was the father of which pups. All my dogs are DNA profiled, so if I mated my bitch to two sires, all that is required is that the sire is profiled and the pups. That will tell you which pup is by which dog. DNA profiling has been here a while, the Kennel Club (SWEAR WORD!!) stores the dna profiles of all dogs tested for free, the actual test costs about £25. HERE look! http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/463/ Its also absolute proof that your dog is your dog! I think all dogs can be profiled not just pedigrees.
