lucylocket 0
I've just got a text from my sister in London. Some total shitty w***** has accessed her bank account and emptied it. Some spotty langer whos probably never done a days work in his life. BTW my sister is a childrens nurse and has been for the last ten years, working shifts, and extra shifts and working bloody hard to save for a deposit on a flat which she has done. She now has to try to get things sorted out with the mortgage people and the rent,as shes buying the flat through a housing association scheme. Its bank holiday in England so not much can be done till Tuesday. Lucy

Even if she gets no reply til next week send an e-mail and keep it on her file, with the date sent. Close that account NOW, open a new current a/c in a different name. If she is paid by direct credit transfer e-mail wages office to pay ONLY into new a/c. Keep records of all messages sent. If the bank has allowed access to her a/c without her authorisation they are legally liable for all losses. Don't worry about the delay in responses. If she uses electronic messaging she has proof of dates and times. Contact the housing association immediately. They should have emergency staff on duty over the bank holiday. Talk to a solicitor. She can have a 1/2 hour discussion under legal aid. And as Douglas Adams said DON'T PANIC. Ric

MuttleMcTuttle 21
Hear so much of this these days Hope your sis will get it all sorted and somehow get the money back... Know several people who've had their credit cards used for all sorts of things they would never dream of purchasing themselves! The really shit bit is that the banks and credit card companies weren't particularly bothered... they refunded the money, but didn't give a stuff about actually catching the fraudsters. They just seem to accept that it's going to happen. If you ever find out who it was you can borrow my size sevens to kick 'em with

Seriously, Lucy, it may be worth your skinny blister talking to a solicitor. Half hour discussion is free even if they can't take the case on legal aid, and she can get her exacy legal position sorted. For the record I wear size 9 DM steelies . . .
