Trapper 0
hey all I've got some shooting that is pretty close ranges and the trusty accupells are over penetrating,I have brought a pack of the dymanic hollow points and they are a big pellet length ways ,but also they feel a bit rough through my gun when pushing them in with the bolt, they dont fit as easy as the accupells. I took a magazines worth out of the dynamics yesterday and shot 5 doves one after the other at about 10 - 20 yards and killed them all with no sign of over penetration, these pellets hit hard which is what i'm looking for ,but i have heard that rws super hollow point are pretty good? never used them so i'm only going by what someone else says.some of the pellets look an interesting shape but you look at them and they are only in .177 which is annoying! so whats your best hollow point? And i'm shooting an AAs410 so want a half decent pellet to put through it. Trapper Quote Link to post

Big bald beautiful 1,231
yes, just looked they were called matchpell. a great flathead. most flat deads were too light but matchpell are the same as accupell at 14.3 Edited July 26, 2009 by Big bald beautiful Quote Link to post
Trapper 0
Hey I've tried the matchpell before or vermin pell ,and had good results with them but my gun shop has stopped selling them and i thought that i could do a little more damage with the hollow points. Sean3513,Thanks for the offer ,but i've tried them before,Thanks anyway though I'll probably end up buying another tin of them from somewhere. I'm off out this afternoon so i'll see how the dynamics perform when i fire a few more shots, i know one thing though,at nearly 20 quid a box i'll not be buying another lot of them ! I got these cheap at the game fair otherwise i'd not have brought them. I'm taking the camera out with me so if the footage is good enough to put on here then i'll upload it and you can see them in action. Trapper Quote Link to post

ellir0305 9
thank you very much for your generosity, i will see how they fire through the hw90 and then get some depending, i think i have about accupells left so i should be ok for a week then it off to the shop post haste before insanity sets in. if i pm you my address will that be ok, thanks again, and i have to say despite the sometimes childish spattles the generosity on this section is admirable to say the least. cheers davy atb rob Quote Link to post

I did a bit of testing a while back and found out, that the main reason that hollow point pellets don't " over penetrate is because due to their crap aerodynamics they just loose a lot of their initial speed on their way to the target. As far as deformation goes. Try this yourself: take a lump of meat and shoot a domed pellet and a hollow point at it at 20 yards. I'll bet you, once you have picked it out of the lump and have given it a bit of a clean up, you can just stick it back in the gun and have another go. ATB Michael Quote Link to post
