Which would you go for

Recommended Posts

Haven't shot the ags but I've got the s200 and I'm not to fond of it I don't get on with the stock

Try ordering one which suits you better mate, or have a go at making one for yourself. You can, if you like the sort, get a one peice type stock for the S200 from quite a few places now, I am led to believe? :)

and it doesn't have a safety

Not a problem which cannot be overcome - with time and perseverance - my AA S310 also was made without a safety on it, but to me it's not a problem as I am used to my rifle. After all, the safety catch is a mechanical item, and so, should never be trusted to be failsafe. All mechanical things wear through use, and WILL fail at some point - it is inevitable. :(

I feel that if one can behave as if they didn't have a safety catch, then that makes for a shooter with a safer operating procedure/habbit, IMO. :)

though it is light and very accurate

This is very true - I have used them myself and (truth be told) if I didn't already own the S310, the S200 would be a close second choice. I am very seriously thinking about one for my son, as it goes. :)

The above blue text is just my take on it.

Grim.

Cheers Grim,

I'm not to fond of safeties, I use one on my springer because its there, but I must admit, I like to think of myself as a bit of a safe shooter and would never rely on one.

Hey guy's

Having read your opinions, read a lot more and spoken to someone who has owned both and likes both I presented him with 'which would you purcase?' question.

He told me it would be the s200. So going to go with all your recomendations and go for the 200 :)

Thanks all

Lewis,

What is unreliable about it? what are your experiances with it, failures etc?

Phantom,

I had a real nightmare with mine, I bought it new .

First thing was the power it varied after everyshot, which ment the pellet hitting high whenever it felt like it.

after getting that sorted, The safety went. Which was very annoying when you were camped up 10 yard's from a bunny

Then i had a problem with it not holding it's charge.

I Was happy to get rid of it to be honest.

Don't know hardly anything about the AGS, but the 200 is a VERY fine gun, even though it may have been designed by a Blind Broadmoor resident!!

"Father, forgive him . . . . . for he knows not what he says!" :tongue2: :11:

Hello Deker, long time - no see, nice to see you around!

Or have I just not been seeing the trees for the wood again!?

Grim.
