Divers Bottles

Recommended Posts

I have been offered a choice of couple of cylinders one is a 10 litre and the other is a 12 litre! both are 232 Bar but have been advised to go for a 300 Bar...

I'll be Honest I havn't got a clue about them but both are supposed to be in date! one is stamped with 05/2007 and the other 09/2008, the guy wants £25 each for them.

Can someone give me a bit of Info on the test dates and whatever else I would need and need to know? in the past I used one of them stirup pumps.....

also looking to buy a decent .177 Precharge! I fancy a Air arms 410 but would be interesting in any other recomendations....

cheers

The diving shop i use for filling Jasp charges £35 to test the bottle so i'd say £60 all in isn't really a bad price........do they have guages with the bottles ?

At that price, buy them both and then sell one on and you have yours for free. ;)

Don't believe everything that davey says , the HW100's are nailed together out of bits of plumbing and old railway sleepers. That's why they are so heavy the AA410 is an excellent choice and being a lot lighter then the HW you can then buy it in a proper calibre that is the .22

Nice one men its much apreciated

the link to Scuba1's info on divers bottles should be pinned! its a cracking bit of info for any other Numpties like myself....

Over a good few months I have been doing some homework on the different Pre Charge rifle's in my price bracket and narrowed it down to a AA410, having said that the one gun I realy fancy is the Daystate Air Ranger but outside my budget, the one other thing I'm looking for in a rifle is reliability so any AA410 users perhaps could fill me :friends:. I saw a Air Ranger on the BBS a couple of days ago for £650 in a left hander which would be ideal, But by all accounts buying a secondhand precharge can be expensive if there is any hidden problems?

This is a quick pic of the 12 litre divers bottle which is in date but visually looks like a old one, could this be a problem on the visual check? it has a fair amount of stamps around the neck....

No Jasper those cylinders look fine, but I would put a bit of paint over the stamps etc to stop any rust pitting. I have only had my 410 for a few month now so its still early days as far as long term reliability goes but so far it has not missed a beat.

Alright jasper, get yourself to an airgun shop and test a few, I use to own an s410k, decent gun... But a few people have the HW100's now and the overall build quality is brilliant, have a look if you can somewhere local before you buy...

If you want a new air bottle try http://www.deepblueshooting.com/department...ng/50282/page/2 free delivery and all gauges and hoses with them...

hello jasper....hows it going??

you wont go far wrong with an air arms s410......classic or carbine.

very , very reliable and consistantly accurate..........some other pcp's, even the top end ones tend to scatter pellets until the reach " the sweet spot".......and then tail off again as the pressure drops.

as ian says..........the hw100 is probably the best rifle available at the moment, but tend to be pricey, even seccond hand, and they are heavy compared to the s410........try a few out, you wont be dissapointed with either.....imo.

Thats one handy Link Ian! the HW100 was another I was looking at giving more shots per charge but would empty the bank balance a tad more . I'm after one to share with my lad Ryan which won't be too heavy at the moment although he does shoot the old HW77 of Millets pretty well and got on really well with His AA410K due to its size and weight....

Nice one sean

A pal brought round a AA410K a while back which impressed me but I recon I would like one that spits out a few more pellets before needing a top up, I think the K version was knocking out about 60 in .177. I had a Falcon Raptor a few years in .177 which averaged around 65 shots before a top up, the trouble is I get bored when out Hunting and like to ping a few targets! before I knew it I was toppng up again which was a killer with the stirrup pump, by the time I finished pumping it back up to 185bar I couldn't shoot straight :D....

this is the one reason I liked the Air Ranger due to its shot capacity! but I'm sure if I get myself a divers bottle first it will save a whole lot of hassle

cheers
