artic 595
It's not so shocking in this day and age. Too many drug users, umemployed wasters. Send all of them (one way ticket) to countires in war and make use of them. There is no great lead to this investigation regarding the lamp and charger.
COMPO 54
A terrible terrible thing to happen, but I think you're being a bit hasty suggesting it was someone from within the hunting "community" that knows who did this. Has anyone in that area been burgled themselves recently and had a lamp stolen? I'm not trying to be funny, but if I dropped a divers torch when I was out committing crime does that mean it was a diver who did it. I hope they catch the scum who did that, the photos are horrific. Was there a photo of the lamp anywhere? I missed it if there was. those type of lamps are used by security guards sometimes also..........could have been a lamp from anyone! then again have they found rabbit blood or such on the lamp???? Exactly my point, the ARV Volvos in Cheshire have NF Lance lamps on board as standard kit, I see they don't get the blame! Not trying to make light (no pun intended) of that poor blokes injuries in any way, but really think it's wrong to assume it was someone who hunts because there was a lamp left there. Notice it says a charger too? Why take the charger? The bloody lamp was probably left by a plod who forgot to pick it up. i doubt a PLOD would have left the lamp....they would have realised their mistakes and i dont think they have chargers in the car's......they may have intergrated in car chargers but not the kind that can be un-plugged and left anywhere....But its a valid point it could have come from anywhere.......so everyone needs to think a bit wider...... It is known that car thieves and burglars dont like to carry "tools" with them (to avoid being stopped searched and arrested for going equipped-i.e. no legitimate reason for a pocket full of tools in a residential street at 3am) so they will steal from a shed on their way and take what tools they need, ladders, hammers, screwdrivers, bars etc.......even a lamp if they thought it may be dark and no lights! this house seemed remote so they could have needed a torch/lamp My best guess and purely a guess is that they stopped by someones shed or garage on the way and nicked the lamp and possibly other tools that they used to gain entry........they then left the lamp and dumped the other tools somewhere else away from the house when the tools/lamp were no longer needed The person whose shed was done probably didn't bother to report it or forgot about the lamp as they hadn't used it for a while and had their reference number to replace the valuable stuff....one way or the other if the police knew where the lamp was taken from it could lead to these lads or at least help trace where they came through to get to the old mans house which could throw more witnesses or cctv edited to add, this is why shed and garden security is nearly as important as house security, lock your ladders away, lock tool boxes and make sure the shed is locked and as secure as you can make it.....they may just nick your tools....or they may nick them and use them to screw your house, or your neighbours or an old mans like in this story! as i say i know how low people are.....they screwed the sister in laws car in teh car park yesterday to a crematorium (because of the lay out and the distance from anything else) it was obvious that the car belonged to someone grieving at the funeral of her nanna, and the scum bags must have made a special trip as its miles from anything else they weren't opportunists walking past, they probably even knew the service had just begun and how long they had! same sort of pieces of shit that did this to the old man Edited July 1, 2009 by COMPO

These people have scanned the area before hand. My guess is that the lamp was actually brought from a second hand shop, car boot sale, i would check all the second hand shops and money exchange places in the area to see if one has been obtained recently. A job for the suited and booted................
