Dan_Jones 7
my jill has just mated and im guessing is pregnant due to her vulva size decreasing . But since she has been in with the male she has been weird with me jumping all over the place and chewing the mesh . Yesterday she even lunged for my hand as went to pick her up ... she never bit but i think she attempted it ... she has never even looked like biting me in all her life .. is this normal behaviour just cos shes pregnant or has she just gone off the rails lol ? might sound like a silly question but ive never had a pregnant ferret before ... and tips to regain her trust or should i just leave her to get on with things ? Thanks Dan Quote Link to post
stubby 175
lots of jills get like that, must be an instinct thing with them, they soon calm back down once the breeding season is over Quote Link to post
max abell 196
The jills and hobs can get a bit touchey during the mating season Our vasectomised hob has also nipped as well in the mid summer nothing savage just a little nip where normaly he is very placid ferret Never been able to find out exactly why they can turn a bit touchy during these months something to do with horemoans i expect But it is nothing to worry about and it will soon pass it dont mean your ferret has turned nasty its quite normal Quote Link to post

stealthy1 3,964
Sounds like normal behavior, my jill nipped when she first concieved due to her needing more food to grow the kits inside her, she's just telling you what she wants, you just have to guess what that is, she's female you know Quote Link to post
