hey mate

i completly agree!!

i was looking for a new pup for 10 months before i found one good enough, then i got two!

the bulk of people breedin their dogs were not fussy bout the potential home or had the buyer had much experience, these are the dogs that end up in rescue. . . grr

all we can do is make sure we only breed our dogs if they would benefit the next generation not be an inconveince and only dogs and pups we are confident about and hope this demand for sheer amount of puppies breed decreases along with the number of idiots buying pups to re home after a season or two

happy hunting everyone, and bring on september!! lurcher lass x x x

Its no different than it was in the 70s the exchange & mart was alway full of lurcher pups i think we are more aware cos of the internet.

Probably not, but how does an inexperianced newbee get a reasonable first dog?

What annoys me, is young lads breeding dogs like their is no tommorow..

Breeding them too young, when they have not prooven themselfs ect.

Why breed anyway, if your in the right circles and are decent enough to know the right folk, you will end up with a well bred pup, and more then likely get to see the parents run for a few seasons, which i think is very important and far better in my opinion.

Frank.

youve got it frank to much unnessesary breeding seems to be very fashionable right now no need for it!

Hate it!

People should get out and work for a living instead of exploiting mediocre animals to raise a bit of extra cash.

Seems to be the new way ............ Need a new car/fridge/holiday/conservatory? Get them dogs bred, some mug will give you a few hundred quid per pup.

The above is not aimed at anyone in particular.

within sites like this , all you have to go on is trust , and trust im affraid seems to have lost its way , IMO , if you havent had the pleasure of seeing both parents work , but can see evidence such as plenty of pics , video footage and so on , then fair enough , but those who have nothing what so ever to back up their claims that the pups are coming from well grafting parents then i would suggest keep looking , sites like this have made it ever so easy for people to pass on their ( so called 100% from working parents) pups , trust goes a long way , but you have to go along way to find it :D ..

* edited to say - this isnt just a case within working dogs , ive recently seen a 13 month old dog for stud , due to its pedigree lines * - not on what so ever .

happy hunting all

Well said frank i do find it a problem as half the dogs have not proven themselves and are just money making machines.....ie getting a greyhound bitch for free and crossing them with full saluki and charging 200 a pup

....crazy

I agree with most of what you say there Frank, but what if you're new to the game, or maybe have no wish to be 'in the right circles?'

I'm new to the game, but listening to other dog boys, all they do is slag each other off & each others dogs, even when they're good mates. Same on here, people are so quick to slate others for whatever reason.

Then you've got the grasses....

i hear what your saying you have to trust sometime or if you stand alone you take the risks theres allways risks just got to minimise them!
