first go with longlines

We set out 2 lines with a total of 55 hooks, covering approx 150 yards.

 

Baited up with blacklug on mustad 4/0s

 

We didnt quite catch as much as we would have liked, but ended up with two flounders, 1 dogfish (released) and a sea bass

 

Not to bad for our first attempt, better than an empty line. We are hoping to set again tommorow, using peeler crab :D

forget the worms bud try whelk's they last a lot longer on the hooks put a bit of sand or mud over each

hook to keep the gulls of. if its bass your after ;)

get more similar photos up.looks very interesting and if i had a beach near by id love to try it although id not be able tl sleep the night before and my heart would be pounding on approach to chech the line.are the fish alive or do you only check when the tide is out??
