Terrie 12
Hi there i have a quick question here goes If a pup was going to be rough coated then what age would you be able to see notice this? The reason i ask as i have a bitch that has had 5 pups. And all were born black with bits of white. But i noticed the other night that 1 of the pups seemed to have a hint of what looked like brindle. But it was lightened. Its quite hard to explain. But its like the coat it black but now has white/grey coming thro. Just thought i would ask on here as i have never had rough dogs before. skycat 6,174
A lot depends on the breeding: some types of rough coat don't show until the pups are 6-9 months old, others will show at about a month: it all depends on what breeds went into the pups. Even some smooth coats are denser and thicker than others and can give the illusion of being rough in young pups, but they eventually end up smooth anyway. Quote Link to post
