dare 1,103
bbc3 on thursday think at 9 o clock. No dought it will be showing the scum of society that should be culled let alone own a dog. Then on the other hand if people wasnt so greedy for money and cared about who they sold dogs to then itll certainly cut down on the numbers of idiotic owners.... Just thought id let you lot know. fin and fur 2
I often wonder at what point in history did society go so badly wrong When i was a youngster you had to show a certain degree of responsibility to your parents before contemplation of the ownership of a pet of any kind would even be entertained We have all seen the assholes wandering around town with a dog (usually a pit bull) barking at all and sundry What a life that dog must lead, doubtless caged up for the best part of the day in a small flat and prone to all manner of psycological issues as a result. Sorry for the rant, but people like this really annoy me, and whilst i generally have no time for expose style programmes i feel that it will be interesting to see how this programme tackles both animal welfare and social degradation issues. Thanks for the heads up, i will be watching

Unfortunately the pit bull along with other breeds has become the ultimate must have kids fashion accesory. Edited May 19, 2009 by gnasher16
dare 1,103
Another possibly more worrying in thing is that these "kids" with dogs end up having kids them selfs...what chance does the next genoration have with parents like that? I use the term "kids" as all the idiots ive seen are old enough to know better. Alot of the people who rant and rave about peddlers mind you sell dogs to known peddlers because the dogs arent what they are looking for or purely because the peddler offers silly money...peddler then sells em to the scum of society....prehaps if the pitbulls ever do become legal again tougher laws on selling pups would be a good idea...not just for one breeds sake...far to many people think if they have a dog they some what have to breed it. richard25 0
I will watch this program but in some ways i really dont want too as i know its only going to show misinformed young impressionable underdeprived teens with no sense of pretty much anything let alone how to care for a pet fish & when the general public watches this it just scares them even more its a good example of propaganda the same title could also be used for the police in the way they handle there dogs for example the big stink up afew years back about how abused there dogs where at the head training centre. Its all horrible really & really for anyone that knows a proper pitbull they know there difiniatly not a vicious evil devil dog....

Malt 379
I just read the synopsis on the Sky planner with a view to record it, but I don't think I'll bother. Personally, I think it will consist of dickheads having their egos stroked & playing up to the camera, giving it the big man image, and a negative narrator trying to make out that all owners of such animals are of the same ilk. There's not a great deal left about the BBC to admire these days, (apart from David Attenborough's programs) least of all their once honoured tradition of presenting a balanced viewpoint of whatever it is they're presenting. gnasher16 31,178
A program like this will mean nothing to the few people left who actually keep a true pit bull......its like these lads with the irish staffs,do they really care what the english kennel club do with their fat show staffs ? no......true pit bull people dont give a bollock about these kids with their caricature pit bulls, like the staffs they have become 2 seperate breeds and the true genuine pit bull you will not see walking the streets anyway.......the best thing that ever happened to the game of pit bulls was the dda......quality came back as they were not ten a penny.....now every little gangster and his brother have one quality is at its lowest ever in this country....hence the kids fashion accesory and the true working pit bull are pretty much 2 seperate breeds......as long as they dont bite me or anyone i know then bollcoks let them get on with it.....the public wont differentiate between a genuine pit bull and these crappy street things anyway so who cares. dare 1,103
I would have to agree and disagree gnasher. Fair enough there is a huge difference between the mutts these kids choose to pose with and a true pitbull BUT the owners of these true pitbulls are human and so are greedy fuckers and for the right price they are happy to sell dogs to well known peddlers who foward these dogs into the wrong hands. These idiots with their man biteing mutts i imagen also bring alot of attention to people who have lovely family dogs which might fall under the dda type. jmo
gnasher16 31,178
Well from day 1 i never went along with this thing of the pit bull terrier being " lovely family pets " anyway........its far too much pressure to put on an explosive and excitable breed bred for something the total opposite of being a loving family pet......but thats a completely different thing....... As for greedy fuckers selling to the wrong people......again..... true genuine pit bull owners wouldnt go to those silly fools anyway.... shit people selling shit dogs to shit people......nothing new its been happening nearly 30 years.....what have the most recent idiots done that ed reid didnt do ?.....you either sell pups for money or you dont,it will go on another 30 years as well....but i say again....genuine honest dogs dont get sold to or by idiots......and thats why the quality of dog has gone so low due to the fact that for every 100 dogs sold within the breed probably only 5 are genuine dogs between genuine people.....hopefully they will ban pit bulls forever and give 20 k fines to anyone caught in possession of one.....and enforce it !....you watch the quality gradually creep back up again after. Gnasher mate, I've always been interested in the history behind the many different dog breeds, including the fighting breeds. Now I've had no experience with them, all I've got to go on is what I've read, but wasn't it true that the breeders of years ago done their utmost to breed out all aggression towards humans, with the reasoning that they could be handled without fear of being bitten by the dog, whilst maintaining the aggression towards other dogs/animals ? If that's true, then are these idiots in danger of undoing countless years of carefully selective breeding? However I'm not trying to say that they'd make family pets, as all dogs can't be trusted 100% with children, especially powerful animals like the pit.
gnasher16 31,178
Historically in my understanding mate i wouldnt go as far as to say it was " bred out " as there were many succesful and well known dogs that were plenty people aggressive....i just believe if you stick to breeding dogs who were good at what they was bred to do ( in this case fighting another one of their own ) those bad traits will take care of themself and not surface anywhere near as often as today where you have people who are breeding these dogs with no real purpose......same as any breed,a running dog ceases to be a running dog if he doesnt run....a digging dog ceases to be a digging dog if he doesnt dig.....no different to a fighting dog......naturally a fighting dog will do far more damage if there is a mishap and unfortunately this is what these idiots today value along with how tough they look ! Put simply.....back in the past the number one breeding requisite to a top breeder was how well a dog would fight another dog....if a dog was man aggressive he would need to be an awful good dog to get bred.....but i really dont believe there was as many man aggressive dogs as there are today....mainly due to the goalposts being shifted as regards breeding goals....and this is what in my opinion makes a true gamebred pit bull almost a completely different breed to these street mutts....only my opinion like
